LIVING WITH PAIN

Feb 10, 2015

It is amazing how many of us live with constant pain. More than 80% of Americans complain about back and neck pain at some point in their lives. It is one of the leading causes of missed time from work is one of the main reasons that people get up “on the wrong side of the bed.” Left untreated, back pain can lead to migraines and other serious health conditions.

Some people ignore the pain. They think they can “gut it out” until it becomes unbearable. Maybe they don’t like doctors or they are afraid of surgery. Maybe they don’t have health insurance so they wait until they need a trip to the emergency room.

YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO LIVE WITH PAIN.

Depending on the source of your pain, surgery might help, but there are many non-surgical options available as well. They include fitness and nutrition programs, yoga, chiropractic and massage therapy, even something as simple as getting a new mattress or pillow to help you sleep better.

Talk with your doctor. Be honest about your overall health history and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Find out what kind of treatment program is right for you. You will be amazed at how good it can feel to live free of pain.
