Concierge Spine Care
We offer an optional Concierge Care Program for patients who desire additional communication with Dr. Jatana and his staff as well as other support services to help prepare for surgery, go through surgery, and recover.
We recognize that spine surgery can be an anxious time and some patients have many questions. We can now provide that extra communication with the surgeon and his staff that you may desire as part of our Concierge Care Program. Our Concierge Care Program is provided in partnership with 365 Surgical, a company that specializes in Concierge Care Programs for joint replacement surgeons and spine surgeons.
There is an additional cost to the patient for the Concierge Care Program to cover the cost of services. The price will be provided by 365 Surgical when you contact them about the optional program.
This fee is outside of your insurance deductible that pays for your surgery. It may qualify for your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), although it is up to you to determine whether the fee qualifies or not.
Q. How does Dr. Jatana’s optional Concierge Care Program provide benefit to the spine surgery patient?
A. Under the 365 Surgical Concierge Care Program the patient receives the following:
- Direct communication with Dr. Jatana via text (in compliance with HIPAA via members’ informed consent) to answer questions prior to or after surgery, including how to handle any accidents after surgery, pain, wound care, fever, infection, and when to return to certain activities
- A path to more convenient clinical and procedure scheduling via “scheduling advocacy” (without bumping existing patients)
- A dedicated 365 Surgical Liaison who is available to help patients in a wide variety of ways before and after surgery, similar to an executive assistant for the surgical experience. The Liaison will guide you through every step of your pre- and post-op surgical journey and has a direct line to Dr. Jatana’s care team
- A two-week rental of a cold compression therapy device to aid in your recovery
- Access via phone/text to a licensed physical therapist and certified nutritionist, which provides additional support beyond the conventional physical therapy recovery programming
- 12 Fresh frozen meals so patients do not need to prepare meals in the days following surgery
- Curated patient educational materials, which include a nutrition plan tailored to joint-surgery recovery based on medical journals
Q. Why doesn’t my health insurance or Medicare cover the Concierge Care Program cost?
A. While health insurance and Medicare covers your spine surgery costs (hospital, anesthesia and surgeon), the optional Concierge Care Program provides for ADDITIONAL services that are NOT covered by health insurance or Medicare, such as:
- speedy communication related to medical and logistical needs
- additional educational support
- scheduling liaison
- cold therapy rental
- home delivered meals
- transportation logistics
These Concierge Care services typically relate to the time BEFORE your surgery and AFTER your surgery to assist with the recovery process, including express communication with the surgeon who seeks to respond same day to your questions. These are not typically covered by health insurance or Medicare.
Q. Does NOT participating in the Concierge Care Program affect my surgery or success rate?
A. Absolutely not. All patients receive the same quality surgical care whether they elect to participate in the optional program or not. The Concierge Care Program relates only to pre-surgery and post-surgery communication and other services which are not covered by health insurance or Medicare.
Dr. Jatana believes that by providing an optional Concierge Care Program he is able to provide an even higher quality experience to those patients who desire extra communication and services related to their surgery.
